MedGlobal Connect Maternal & Child Health Conference in Dubai, UAE

In November 2025, I joined maternal health leaders, researchers, clinicians, and advocates at the MedGlobal Connect Maternal & Child Health Conference in Dubai, UAE. 🇦🇪

Being in a room full of people who are committed to improving outcomes for women and children was both energizing and affirming. Throughout the sessions and conversations, a few themes stood out:

🌍 Community-centered care is essential. Experts across regions emphasized that sustainable change begins at the grassroots level—by listening to women, engaging community stakeholders, and building trust from the ground up.

🧠 Maternal mental health is non-negotiable. From integration models to best-practice counseling frameworks, it was clear that mental health must sit alongside physical health in every maternal-care intervention. This holistic approach remains a core pillar of my work with Zinure Women's Health Foundation.

🤝 Partnerships accelerate impact. Whether between government entities, traditional birth attendants (TBAs) and midwives, NGOs, or digital health innovators—collaboration was highlighted as the key to closing gaps and scaling what works.

📊 Data drives better decisions. The emphasis on evidence-based approaches reinforced the importance of monitoring, evaluation, and continuous learning—especially in low-resource settings.

This conference served as a reminder of why I'm committed to this work. Hearing success stories, challenges, and actionable strategies from global experts reignited my passion to continue pushing for holistic, culturally sensitive, and community-driven maternal health solutions—particularly for women in underserved communities.

Onward and upward.
